Private Lessons in flute, clarinet, saxophone, & more.
Most students take flute lessons, saxophone lessons, or clarinet lessons, but Boston Woodwind Academy provides private lessons on pretty much any woodwind you can think of! From pan flute to recorder to world instruments, even bagpipes, if you can blow into it, we can teach you how to play it.
All private music lessons are custom-tailored to students' skills and interests. Whether you're just starting out, are an advanced student feeling like you've plateaued, or need specific help getting ready to prepare for a big audition, the one-on-one attention of private studio lessons with someone who's been exactly where you are will help you feel comfortable as you step into your full potential as a musician.
Private woodwind lessons are offered to enthusiastic and dedicated students age 9 to adult in our beautiful studios in Cambridge and Gloucester, MA. We also offer online music lessons.

Our Philosophy
& Approach
Our approach brings together conservatory training and real-world multi-genre experience, fueled by the desire to challenge the status quo. We support the idea that rules are important to learn but are ultimately made to be broken (smartly!).
Training focuses on building unshakeable foundational technique and theory to use as a springboard for creative exploration and risk-taking. We believe in 'practicing smarter' and seeing music as a powerful tool for social change, encouraging students to appreciate standard repertoire but to also seek out work by artists from historically marginalized communities.
